2020年，新冠肺炎疫情席捲全球，證嚴上人關懷大眾的健康與平安，期望透過中醫藥智慧，探索草本植物的應用。淨斯本草飲由花蓮慈濟醫學中心相關醫療研究團隊與靜思團隊共同研發，從多種草本植物中選用八種原料，包含艾葉、魚針草、魚腥草、麥冬、桔梗、甘草、紫蘇葉及菊花，融合不同草本的特性，呈現傳統草本智慧與現代研發相結合的理念。
Nature offers a rich variety of plants, each with its own characteristics and traditional uses. The Jing Si Herbal Series brings together traditional Chinese herbal knowledge, modern research and product development to introduce herbal-based products into everyday life, reflecting a philosophy of caring for well-being and appreciating the natural world.
In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic affected communities around the world, Dharma Master Cheng Yen expressed concern for people's health and well-being and encouraged the exploration of traditional Chinese herbal knowledge. Jing Si Herbal Tea was developed through collaboration involving the medical research teams of Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital and the Jing Si team.
The herbal tea features eight selected botanical ingredients: mugwort leaf, kalabhangra, houttuynia, Ophiopogon root, balloon flower root, licorice root, perilla leaf and chrysanthemum. The formulation reflects an approach that brings traditional herbal knowledge together with modern research and product development.
